LECC Gears Up for 2009 Season
Many thanks to all those who attended the 2008 AGM on October 20th, which saw the return to office of several serving Committee members, as well as the appointment of two new officers, Gary Hunt and Pete Muggeridge, whom we wish all the very best in their new roles.
A well-deserved vote of thanks was given to Richard Harwood who stepped down as Club Captain after four seasons: well done "Big Merv"! Richard is replaced as Captain by serving club Chairman, Jim "Lightning" Khan, whom we wish every success in the new role. Gary Hunt volunteered to take over as Vice Captain from David Maynard. We are grateful to both Gary for such enthusiasm, and to David for having handled the role ably for the past season. To steer the club's social affairs forward, we are delighted to have Pete "Muggers" Muggeridge take on the role of Social Secretary, with much appreciation to Chris "Dogfire" Doughty for his sterling efforts for the past two seasons. If you have any new or interesting suggestions for something we can do as a club, please pass them to Pete. The role of Fixture Secretary remains with the Club Secretary, Jules Phillips, for another year, and Jules confirms that a fixture card is now available as well as all the fixtures being posted here.
